Choosing the right size
Start with your countertop depth and vanity scale. A compact round sink suits a powder room; a larger rectangular basin anchors a bigger vanity. As a rule, leave at least 1–2 inches between the sink edge and the front edge of the counter for comfortable use and splash control.
Also account for height. A vessel sink raises the effective basin height by its own depth, so pair it with a vanity height and faucet that keep the rim comfortable. The goal is not simply to place a vessel sink on a standard-height vanity — it is to make sure the finished rim height works for the people using it.
How much does a concrete sink weigh?
Because our sinks are ultra-high performance concrete cast at an engineered thickness, they are lighter than people expect. Most vessel models land in the 20–30 lb range depending on size and profile. That is heavier than a ceramic vessel sink, but well within what most properly installed vanities and countertops can support.
Weight matters most for two reasons: handling during installation, and structural support. Have a second person help position larger models. For vessel sinks resting on a counter, a stable, level, properly supported surface is what matters most.
Drains, faucets, and installation
Each vessel sink is made with a 1 5/8" non-overflow drain opening, compatible with standard non-overflow vessel sink drains. The drain itself is not included, so you can choose a finish that matches your faucet and hardware.
Installation is straightforward: cut the drain hole in the counter to allow room for tightening the drain directly to the sink, set the sink on the counter, secure the contact point with an appropriate bead of silicone, and connect the drain.
Pair the sink with a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted faucet so the spout clears the raised rim. We recommend a spout height of 4–6" above the sink lip, though this ultimately depends on personal preference, water pressure, and overall setup.
Color, lead time, and samples
We offer 35 integral colors, from warm neutrals to deep charcoals and bold accents. Because the pigment is mixed through the body of the concrete, the base color is integral rather than a surface coating that can wear away to reveal a different material beneath.
Screens render color imperfectly, and handmade concrete has natural variation, so we strongly recommend ordering physical samples before committing.
